- Hearing ringing or other noises in your ear

What Our Patients Say
-Katherine M, 2010
It is the recommendation of our practice that each of our patients age 65 and older begin to schedule their annual hearing evaluations. Your hearing is important to us, let us help you establish where your hearing is today and determine if now is the time to take advantage of 21st century hearing aid devices. It’s time to begin to hear what you’ve been missing!
Once your annual exam is scheduled, we suggest that you bring a family member, significant other, or a friend that is familiar with you and your lifestyle. Most often they will be the ones to notice the TV is turned up too loudly or that you are constantly asking people to repeat themselves. When you can’t hear the changes in your behavior will be much more noticeable than just wearing hearing aid. Many adults with untreated hearing loss are more likely to become depressed, when they are unable to hear what is being said in conversations and social situations they isolate themselves from family and friends.
Our complete exam will take anywhere from 60-90 minutes. For your convenience we will never book more than five evaluations per day so we can ensure you have enough time to ask questions. Our goal is to ensure you have a full understanding of your baseline hearing and what options are available to you.
Using state of the art technology, we systematically perform a series of painless test designed to predict the body’s neurological and mechanical abilities to detect and amplify sound as well as determining your ability to interpret speech. The hearing test time is dependent on the amount of hearing loss and whether or not a hearing aid fitting needs to occur.
Like anything new in our life, adjusting to a hearing aid device does not happen overnight. Unlike vision restoration or other types of restoration procedures, hearing aids “do not” bring back your hearing to the quality you had as a child. Hearing aids, when fitted properly by a licensed Hearing Care Professional to accommodate your individual needs will allow to you hear the sounds that have slowly disappeared over the years. Working towards the best result, our Hearing Care Professional will fit you with the hearing aid device best suited for your needs and your lifestyle. If you require a custom order, we will schedule an appointment for a follow up fitting within 5-7 days of the order. During that visit we will go through a series of adjustments and directions to help maximize your hearing experience. We then look forward to seeing you in our office two more times over the next 3-5 weeks to answer any questions you may have and to be sure you are satisfied with the quality of your new hearing aid and the incredible quality of life experiences you will have, filled with the sounds you have been missing for many years.
